Tuesday night trivia is made up of three rounds of five questions. One question from each round is usually RPI trivia or Troy trivia. Then there is a final question for which you wager how many of your points you want to wager on the final question. Trivia nights began with two teams on Tuesday nights. Now we have many more teams and have also added a Brainstormer Pub Quiz night on Saturday nights. We are the only pub in New York State to hold Brainstormer Pub Quiz nights. We celebrate birthdays on almost a daily basis with patrons wearing the 'birthday cake' hat and having their picture taken. We have pictures going back to when the Union was downstairs during the Union renovation where Mothers is currently located. The newly renovated upstairs pub has a Happy Hour Room where food can be set out for our patrons or for private parties. Old photos of patrons are hung on the walls of the Happy Hour room. This room becomes the focus for our returning alumni. They enjoy reminiscing about the fun times they had at The Pub...and for those who graduated before 1990 - they're thrilled to know we have a place on campus where our students, faculty and staff can enjoy themselves. The Happy Hour room also is home to the 'Mug Nite' wall. Patrons purchase a Clubhouse Pub mug on Wednesday nights. At the end of the evening, they can leave it at the pub on the wall so it's there every week. Every Tuesday night is Military Night. We began this a while back to celebrate the men and women who defend our country and begin their military careers right here at Rensselaer. Anyone with a military ID receives a discount off their beverage purchase. We also have a red light that we turn on when a fire truck from the Bouton Road Firehouse goes north on 15th Street. While the light is on, patrons receive a discount in honor of the hardworking firefighters from Bouton Road who work so hard to keep us safe. Happy Hour which is held on Fridays from 4:30 to 6 p.m. is our way of thanking our patrons for making the Pub the fun place it has become. We have 'free food' for our patrons (those purchasing beverages during happy hour).
